Experience
I am a PhD candidate in history at the University of California, Irvine, and will complete my dissertation in September, 2014. I specialize in the cultural and environmental history of modern Britain, the history of food, science, and medicine. I have taught extensively at the university level, including courses in American, European, and world history, and I currently teach Western Civilization at Laguna College of Art & Design. I have also spent the last four years teaching in UC Irvine's Humanities Core Course, a year-long sequence of double-load courses that combine introductions to literature, history, and philosophy with intensive writing instruction. The course is required for all first-year Humanities majors, and a popular choice with students from other majors who want more rigorous instruction in writing. With these experiences, I am comfortable tutoring any subject in history, writing, social studies, geography, and literature.

Hobbies
I am a Los Angeles native, and a father of two: a thirteen year old and a four month old. I am also a huge fan of the Los Angeles Kings and Tottenham Hotspur; Ducks fans and Arsenal supporters should know that before they work with me.
